At Saseka Tented Camp you can find a home in the African wilderness, one where you can enjoy an out-of-the-ordinary safari experience in comfort and luxury. Saseka has been described as a shining jewel in the Thornybush crown while Thornybush is one of the original nature reserves in the Greater Kruger National Park. Situated on the banks of the Monwana River, a lodge with a unique layout and balance between cutting-edge design and classical style was created to make guests feel connected to the outside environment.
The lodge itself is designed to exist in harmony with nature with 13 ultra-luxurious suites, including the Amber Presidential Suite, that break with traditional bush lodge style to offer a masterpiece of artistry and innovation. Each suite features individually designed furniture, a private plunge pool, en-suite glass fronted bathroom and indoor and outdoor showers. The natural wooden sculptures by renowned South African artist Geoffrey Armstrong add a powerful magic. Dining in the outdoor boma with walls sculpted from tree roots, is a magical affair and the dining area in the main lounge looks out over a waterhole. Other facilities include a library, art gallery, meditation garden, underground wine cellar, gymnasium and the Amani Spa where you can indulge in holistic body, skin and beauty rituals, treatments and massages.
Kapama Buffalo Camp is the latest in Afro-chic glamping with luxurious tented accommodation situated on a lush riverbank lined with tall indigenous trees. Located in Kapama Private Game Reserve, guests have access to 13 000 hectares of pristine bushveld that falls within the Greater Kruger National Park. The modern eco-camp exudes by-gone safari luxury, with each ensuite deluxe safari tent is air-conditioned and fully-equipped for comfort and convenience. Perched on a wooden deck with stilts, the tented accommodation is built using natural stone and wood with modern décor accents of burnt red and gold. Luxury features include a Nespresso machine and mini-bar, and heated under-blankets for chilly evenings
The lodge provides accommodation in six magnificent suites nestled on the banks of the river where peace and tranquillity reigns. The movement of game around the camp can be enjoyed from a cantilevered deck, tented by a large leafy Jackalberry tee. The deck also offers an alternative venue for meals, although the Boma, a truly African dining venue, is the preferred place for dinners under the stars around a roaring fire. Guests can also enjoy a workout in the gym and some lavish treatments at the hands of a team of masseurs or enjoy a good wine from the wine cellar.
It is an adventure camp in a private concession of the Kruger National Park and offers guests a range of activities and elegant accommodation on the edge of the Mpanamana Dam. The camp is named after a famous elephant, ‘Shawu’, who had the longest tusks ever recorded in South Africa and roamed this valley for sixty years.
The suites are built out of authentic Buffalo dung walls and have decks overlooking the dam where many animals come down to drink during the day. Guests can experience excellent game viewing from the decks of the camp and can go on game viewing drives with expert guides.
