Thornybush Nature Reserve is a 14 000-hectare private reserve that shares a fenceless border with the Kruger National Park. Early in the morning you will be collected from your address in Johannesburg to travel eastwards via the N4 motorway through the Highveld of Gauteng and Mpumalanga, and into the Thornybush Game Reserve near Hoedspruit in Limpopo.
The drive may take about six to seven hours, during which you will stop for refreshments.
You should reach the lodge around mid-day and have time to freshen up and relax before you depart on an open safari vehicle for your first afternoon game drive in the reserve.
After watching the sun set you will return to the lodge where dinner will be ready.

Get up very early each morning to enjoy a hot beverage and rusks before departing on the first game drive of the day to catch some nocturnal animals still out hunting, and witness the sun rising.
You will return to the lodge for a late breakfast and can choose to spend the rest of the day lazing around and relaxing in the tranquillity of the bush.
Your afternoon game drive will depart at about 16:00 and return after sunset just in time for another scrumptious dinner under the African skies.

On the last morning of your stay you will get up early again, enjoy your hot beverage and rusks, and depart on the final game drive.
After experiencing another African sunrise, you return to the lodge for breakfast before departing to Johannesburg. You will arrive at your drop-off point around 17:00.
