Baobab Ridge Private Lodge, located in the Klaserie Private Game Reserve, which is part of the Kruger National Park, is an intimate retreat with just seven free-standing suites, accommodating a maximum of 16 guests.
The main lodge includes a bar and lounge area, satellite television, complimentary Wi-Fi, guest bathrooms, and a spacious dining room. Outside, you’ll find an open-air boma with a fireplace and a swimming pool that overlooks the beautiful bush and a small waterhole. The lodge is wheelchair-accessible and fully fenced to ensure larger wildlife remains outside.
The 3-day Imbali safari tour takes guests to the heart of the Kruger National Park to the Mluwati Concession. Glorious days at Imbali Safari Lodge are spent exploring the vast wilderness region on sunrise and sunset game drives and enjoying hours of relaxation and pampering back at the lodge, as well as a magical “sofa safari” from the privacy of their own viewing deck. The private concessions within the iconic Kruger National Park are areas of land where carefully selected operators have a license to offer all the benefits of a luxury safari lodge on a private reserve. Guests staying at Imbali Lodge are taken on game drives in an open safari vehicle within the private concession and have access to the public roads of Kruger Park.

MalaMala Game Reserve was the first privately owned and commercially operated game reserve in South Africa and served as model for all other private game reserves. As one of the largest private Big Five reserves in South Africa it is world-renowned for the finest game viewing. MalaMala shares an unfenced boundary with the world-famous Kruger National Park (KNP) and is strategically located between the KNP and the Sabi Sand Reserve with 20 kms (13 miles) of Sand River frontage. This perennial river is the focus of MalaMala’s wildlife experience because it draws many animals all year round.
The 15 well-spaced tents are nestled in a Tamboti grove on a dry riverbed. The main building comprises a large open bar area, infinity pool, and comfortable sun lounges from where you can watch wildlife drinking at the nearby waterhole. The tents offer an open veranda elevated on a wooden platform for maximum relaxation. They are furnished with soft leather couches, extra length beds, mosquito nets and open air en-suite bathrooms. Due to the layout and terrain, only children older than 12 years are allowed. Other features include a fan, mosquito net, reading material, bottled water and homely comforts.
You will be collected from your address in Johannesburg early in the morning and travel eastwards via the N4 motorway through the Highveld of Gauteng and Mpumalanga, to the Manyeleti Game Reserve.
The drive may take about six to seven hours, and you will stop along the way for refreshments. You should reach the lodge around mid-day and have time to freshen up and relax before departing for your first afternoon game drive on an open safari vehicle.
After sunset you will return to the lodge where dinner will await.
You overnight in your luxury accommodation at Mantobeni Tented Camp and your lodging includes lunch and dinner.
Wake up early, enjoy a hot beverage and rusks before departing on the morning game drive to catch the sun rising and spot some nocturnal animals still out hunting.
You will return for a late breakfast at the lodge and can spend the rest of the day lazing around. Your afternoon game drive will depart at about 16:00 and return after sunset just in time for dinner around the fire.
You overnight in your luxury accommodation at Mantobeni Tented Camp and your deal includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.
On the last day of your stay you will get up early too, enjoy your hot beverage and rusks, and depart on the final game drive.
After experiencing another African sunrise, you return to the lodge for breakfast before departing to Johannesburg. You will arrive at your drop-off point around 17:00.
