Tshokwane River Camp is a unique and exclusive place hidden in an undiscovered part of the world-famous Kruger National Park only an hour from Skukuza Airport.
It has 30 luxury tents that can sleep up to 60 people. The rustic and exclusive atmosphere of the camp, which is next to a dry riverbed, gives tourists a chance to forget about the outside world and focus on the beauty of the wild.
The Lodge only open for a limited time from the 01st July 2023 – 30th September 2023 and then again from the 01st May 2024 – 30th September 2024.

Prepare for an exhilarating day of wildlife exploration as you immerse yourself in the natural wonders of Kruger National Park.
Each of the five luxury suites at The River Lodge is extremely spacious and ensures extra privacy. The honeymoon suite is slightly larger than the others, with the Royal Suite combining two suites with a central area to accommodate a larger family or four adults. The luxury suites are disabled suitable, have double beds, lounges, fireplaces, open-plan bathrooms and large outside shaded decks and a private swimming pool and outdoor shower. Bathrooms feature floor-to-ceiling glass doors that can open to the outdoors, for the ultimate relaxing opportunity to soak in the bathtub while admiring spectacular views.
Early in the morning you will be collected from your address in Johannesburg to travel eastwards via the N4 motorway through the Highveld of Gauteng and Mpumalanga, and into the Thornybush Game Reserve near Hoedspruit in Limpopo.
The drive may take about six to seven hours, during which you will stop for refreshments.
You should reach the lodge around mid-day and have time to freshen up and relax before you depart on an open safari vehicle for your first afternoon game drive in the reserve.
After watching the sun set you will return to the lodge where dinner will be ready.
You overnight in your luxury accommodation at Thornybush River Lodge and your lodging includes lunch and dinner. Â
Get up very early each morning to enjoy a hot beverage and rusks before departing on the first game drive of the day to catch some nocturnal animals still out hunting, and witness the sun rising.
You will return to the lodge for a late breakfast and can choose to spend the rest of the day lazing around and relaxing in the tranquillity of the bush.
Your afternoon game drive will depart at about 16:00 and return after sunset just in time for another scrumptious dinner under the African skies.

On the last morning of your stay you will get up early again, enjoy your hot beverage and rusks, and depart on the final game drive.
After experiencing another African sunrise, you return to the lodge for breakfast before departing to Johannesburg. You will arrive at your drop-off point around 17:00.
