Experience the thrill of a safari in South Africa’s Kruger National Park. Day 1 begins with a pickup from Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport and transfer to a non en-suite tented camp in Pretoriuskop rest camp. Enjoy an afternoon open vehicle safari, followed by a dinner under the stars. Day 2 offers a full day of exploration with open vehicle safaris and the freedom to choose your own lunch. Day 3 takes you to the Greenfire game lodge in the Balule private game reserve for off-road safaris. Day 4 continues the adventure with morning and afternoon safaris. Day 5 concludes with a final morning safari and breakfast before heading back to the airport.
The world-famous Kruger National Park in South Africa, which is steeped in myth and history, is standing by, ready for you to explore its expansive landscapes and stunning African animals on a four-day self-drive safari.
On a genuine self-drive safari through Kruger National Park, you will have the opportunity to go on an adventure in search of the “Big Five” animals of Africa: the elephant, lion, rhinoceros, leopard, and buffalo. You will also encounter several other species of exotic wildlife.

The lodge offers an enchanting view over the Makhutsi River and the spacious lounge area leading onto a deck allow the perfect opportunity to view game. You can be assured of 24-hour security, and enjoy complimentary Internet access, a library and spa. You will be assigned on of 11 spacious and air-conditioned suites, with an en-suite bathroom. The lodge offers guests a choice of five Luxury, two Family and two Executive Suites, as well as two Presidential Suites enjoying their own private plunge pools.
You will be collected from OR Tambo International Airport and driven via the N4 motorway through the scenic JG Strydom Tunnel towards Tzaneen to arrive at Karongwe River Lodge by mid-day, in time for a light lunch.
Spend a relaxed afternoon at the pool or on the deck before a late afternoon safari in an open game drive vehicle.
After watching the sun set, you will return to the lodge where dinner will be served in the dining area or outside under the stars (weather permitting).
You overnight in a luxury suite at Karongwe River Lodge and your stay includes lunch and dinner.Â
Your wake-up call at 05:00 and a hot beverage and rusks will prepare you for a three-hour sunrise game drive in the reserve.
On return to the lodge, a late breakfast awaits. The rest of the day you can spend relaxing at the pool, library, spa or the lounge area. Your afternoon game drive will commence at about 16:00, to return around 19:00 in time for dinner in the dining area or outside under the stars (weather permitting).

On your last morning, you can enjoy another early game drive watching the sun rise, followed by a hearty breakfast before departing mid-morning on your return journey to Johannesburg.
