True to its name, the camp is raised on stilts among Jackalberry and Leadwood trees to overlook the Sand River and suites are reached by elevated, lantern lit walkways. All are elegantly decorated to merge with the surrounding environment, and the luxurious suites have spacious bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers, king-size beds with mosquito nets, air-conditioning and fans, private lounge areas with minibar and a private deck with a plunge pool.
Chisomo Safari Camp lives up to its name (which means “blessings”) by combining memories of a bygone era with the warmth and vibrancy of a Safari in the Africa wilderness. Situated under towering knob thorn and jackalberry trees, the camp accommodates up to 44 guests in 22 luxuriously decorated tented suites draped in white linen. You will enjoy your meals in spectacular surroundings, dining under the stars or in the elegantly candlelit dining area with friendly staff attending to you at all times.
Accommodation is provided in eight individual suites built some distance from each other among Knobthorn and Jackalberry trees. The suites are individually decorated in a modern African theme, with high ceilings and extra screens on windows and doors so that it can be left open at night. Suites are equipped with air-conditioners and overhead fans. In addition to the original ones, new Makubela suites, built at the end of a raised walkway and named after a territorial female leopard, offer the ultimate in luxury, comfort and privacy.

Tshokwane River Camp is a unique and exclusive place hidden in an undiscovered part of the world-famous Kruger National Park only an hour from Skukuza Airport.
It has 30 luxury tents that can sleep up to 60 people. The rustic and exclusive atmosphere of the camp, which is next to a dry riverbed, gives tourists a chance to forget about the outside world and focus on the beauty of the wild.
The camp has large tented bedrooms that are 24 m2 and have front and back openings, side windows, a covered patio, and inside bathrooms. Fresh sheets, soft duvets, and warm blankets will help people get a good night’s sleep.
The Lodge only open for a limited time from the 01st July 2023 – 30th September 2023 and then again from the 01st May 2024 – 30th September 2024.
DAY 1: Skukuza Airport – Tshokwane River Camp
Guests are collected from the Skukuza Airport and travel north to the Tshokwane River Camp.
The first upscale tented camp that is open seasonally in Kruger National Park. From July to the end of September 2023, this camp will offer an unimagined highlight for Kruger Park fans who want to get closer to nature.
The luxury tented camp is located in a part of Kruger National Park that has never been visited before. The camp “pops up” for the season and then disappears at the end of the season, leaving no sign.
Tshokwane River Camp is a unique and exclusive place hidden in an undiscovered part of the world-famous Kruger National Park only an hour from Skukuza Airport.

It is in one of the most wildlife-rich parts of the park and will surprise you from the moment you arrive.
During the summer, water flows through the Ripape riverbed near the camp but when winter comes people can enjoy drinks at sunset on the riverbank.
Guests are greeted by a charming wooden deck tucked under Leadwood trees and decorated with lanterns that cast a soft glow on the weathered bark, telling stories of majestic elephants seeking shelter from the African sun.

In the beautiful shared tented dining room guests can enjoy a full English breakfast, a light lunch, tea, coffee, and cookies in the afternoon, and dinner while all house drinks, soft drinks, teas, and coffees served at a safari bar, are included. You can also buy premium drinks at a cash bar.
In the evenings you can relax in the riverbed around a fireplace with a big campfire.
Activities in which you can participate include two game drives a day, or a walking safari with an armed guide.
DAY 2, 3 & 4 : Morning and Afternoon open vehicle safari drives
You will receive an early wake-up call and be served a hot beverage and rusks before departing on your 3-hour game drive while the sun rises in the east.
On return to the lodge you can enjoy a brunch and choose to spend the rest of the day at the pool or just lazing around.
Be ready for an afternoon game drive with an expert guide at about 16:00, to return in time for another starlit dinner.
You overnight in your luxury tent at the Tshokwane river lodge and your deal includes, breakfast lunch and dinner.
DAY 5: Tshokwane River Camp – Skukuza Airport
Rise early again, enjoy a hot beverage and rusk, and depart on your last morning game drive.
After witnessing a last African sunrise, you return to the lodge for breakfast before departing to the Skukuza Airport
