MalaMala Game Reserve is the benchmark for the luxury safari industry in Southern Africa and MalaMala Camp a haven of luxury, comfort, superb service and unrivalled views of the Sand River and surrounding bushveld. MalaMala Game Reserve was the first privately owned and commercially operated game reserve in South Africa and served as model for all other private game reserves. As one of the largest private Big Five reserves in South Africa it is world-renowned for the finest game viewing.
For luxury extraordinaire within the boundaries of the Kruger National park itself, Lukimbi Safari Lodge is a natural choice. This stunning safari lodge is situated in the easily accessible southern part of the Kruger National Park, where the Big Five and a wide variety of other animals and birds roam freely in their natural habitat. Many unforgettable evenings are spent in the unusual African boma, a favourite outside place at night. Furniture in the restaurant and on the deck, is often moved to provide different views on different days and a library has a collection of non-fiction and fiction as well as a computer station available for guests’ use.
Accommodation is comfortable and suitable for those looking for a value for money option in the Sabi Sand. All rooms are en-suite and airconditioned. Some rooms are set up to allow families or small parties of three friends with separate but connected rooms. Umkumbe has three Standard and seven Superior rooms, with the latter larger with outdoor en-suite showers.
Elephant Plains Game Lodge is where you will find comfortable style and affordable luxury in the world-renowned Sabi Sand Game Reserve, adjacent to the Kruger National Park. Bordering the national park, with no dividing fences, the Sabi Sand is world-renowned for excellent game viewing and you can be sure of game drives and bush walks that will live up to your imagination. Apart from close encounters with the Big 5, you might even be treated on some wild dog or cheetah sightings.
Idube Game Lodge is situated in an indigenous garden of cool, green lawns and tall trees, maintained only with recycled water. The lodge is designed to blend into the bush with rough, natural coloured bricks, while tiled roofs create a cool interior. Guests love to gather in the thatched bar and entertainment areas while the open lounge is a splendid place to relax and wait for animals to come grazing in front of the lodge. Guests can watch game from a number of viewing platforms around the camp and from a sunken hide at a dam directly opposite the lodge. Idube is also home to families of nyala and warthogs, seen almost daily around the lodge area.
