Becks Safari Lodge is set in the Karongwe Private Game Reserve on the banks of the Makhutswi River, where you stay in a safari suite bordering the river or overlooking a waterhole.
Accommodation options at Jackalberry Lodge comprises seven thatched suites which can all accommodate two guests each and a family unit accommodating up to four people. The family suite has two adjoining suites but is otherwise similar to the other suites. The suites have a home-away-from-home feel and come with a private deck, inside and outside showers and a large bath. Classic safari decor with comfortable, modern furnishings adds some local flair. The private veranda is ideal for casual game-viewing or relaxing and the vicinity of the suites allows guests privacy and space while still being close to the lodge’s main area. Other lodge facilities and services include, a bar, a boma, bush breakfast, bush dinner, dining room, game drives, library, lounge, mobile coverage, pool, spa, wake up calls and Wi-Fi. Babysitting can be arranged at an additional cost.
The private concessions within the iconic Kruger National Park are areas of land where carefully selected operators have a license to offer all the benefits of a luxury safari lodge on a private reserve. Guests staying at Hoyo Hoyo Tsonga Lodge enjoy game drives in an open safari vehicle within the private concession as well as the Kruger Park itself. Glorious days at Hoyo Hoyo Tsonga Lodge are spent exploring the vast wilderness region on sunrise and sunset game drives and enjoying hours of relaxation and pampering back at the lodge, as well as a magical “sofa safari” from the privacy of their own viewing deck.
Our 3 Day Explores Lodge safari is based in a small, simple, naturally luxurious and authentic safari camp that pays homage to the days when exploring the African wilderness was a pioneering adventure.
Departing from the Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport Bus Terminal by 07:00am, you will travel east through the farmlands and onto the Kruger National Park.
It’s a 5-6 hour drive from Johannesburg to Bundox Explores Lodge in the Balule Private Game reserve and travel to the town of Hoedspruit with scheduled stops for bathroom breaks and leg stretches.
Arrive mid-day in the Balule Private Game reserve and book into the Bundox Explores Lodge. Enjoy a light meal and freshen up before departing late afternoon for a game drive on an open safari vehicle. Sundowners at a special vantage point.
Dinner is enjoyed at the lodge.

Safaris are conducted on the private Balule game reserve, offering a wonderful opportunity to find the Big 5 and other animals that inhabit the reserve.
Enjoy a 3-hour sunrise game drive in Balule Private Game Reserve. Return for a hearty breakfast; relax around camp, bird watch at a hide or join a ranger for a guided bush walk. Depart late afternoon for a sunset game drive.
Set off as the sun is rising for your last game drive in Balule Game Reserve. Enjoy a late breakfast on your return before checking out. We depart late-morning for the return journey to Johannesburg. Arrive at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg late afternoon (approx 17h00).
