Our 3 Day Explores Lodge safari is based in a small, simple, naturally luxurious and authentic safari camp that pays homage to the days when exploring the African wilderness was a pioneering adventure.
Join us on a full day (9 hours) private, guided, open-vehicle safari drive into the Kruger National Park from any hotel or address in Hazyview. Enjoy the time with your safari guide in search of the Big 5 (lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant) as well as many other animals that inhabit the national park. Please note that all rates exclude the daily conservation fees of R460.00 per person.
The Kruger National Park is renowned for its incredible biodiversity as well as its rich cultural history. This tour provides a brief glimpse of an outstanding wilderness region that is part of the internationally designated Kruger2Canyons UNESCO Man and Biosphere Reserve.
Enjoy your Kruger National Park safari trip using our three day classic safari tour option for an adventure to find Africa’s Big Five: Elephant, Lion, Rhino, Leopard, and Buffalo making Kruger National Park the most exciting African safari destination in South Africa.
Guests stay in traditional 2-sleeper bungalows in Pretoriuskop Rest Camp in the Kruger National Park.
Facilities include an en-suite bathroom with shower, air-conditioning, twin beds equipped with SANParks linen, blankets and towels, a kitchenette with small fridge and tea/coffee-making facilities. There are mosquito netting on windows and doors and electrical lights and plug points.
A family guest cottage can be requested, depending on availability. It has a small lounge and kitchenette, as well as two bedrooms that can accommodate two adults and two children.
All accommodation is strictly non-smoking.
Breakfast and dinner are prepared in a private section of the rest camp’s camp kitchen and served in our open-air dining tent or in the camp restaurant if it rains.
The rest camp has a take-out restaurant and a Park shop for drinks and snacks. Please note that no alcohol may be consumed on the open safari vehicles during game drives, so only use it before or after leaving for game drives.
An enormous swimming pool built around a massive granite rock is a unique feature of the historic rest camp.
The camp has cell phone service but no Wi-Fi. To access the internet while on vacation in the Kruger Park, purchase a Sim card with Pay as You Go data.

Guests are collected from Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport between 7:00 and 7:30. Collections from any other Johannesburg hotels or addresses are possible at additional rates.
Guests are dropped off at Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport around 17:00, other hotels or addresses can be arranged at additional rates.
Kruger Safari Company Tours and its service providers provide cost-effective transfers for groups of 2 – 12 people per vehicle; please let us know if you prefer a private tour (additional rates may apply).
Keep in mind that if you plan to fly out of OR Tambo International Airport on the last day of the safari tour, we recommend booking a domestic flight no earlier than 19:30 and an international flight no earlier than 21:00.

Kapama Buffalo Camp is the latest in Afro-chic glamping with luxurious tented accommodation situated on a lush riverbank lined with tall indigenous trees. Located in Kapama Private Game Reserve, guests have access to 13 000 hectares of pristine bushveld that falls within the Greater Kruger National Park. The modern eco-camp exudes by-gone safari luxury, with each ensuite deluxe safari tent is air-conditioned and fully-equipped for comfort and convenience. Perched on a wooden deck with stilts, the tented accommodation is built using natural stone and wood with modern décor accents of burnt red and gold. Luxury features include a Nespresso machine and mini-bar, and heated under-blankets for chilly evenings

Departing from the Johannesburg OR Tambo at mid-day on a 50min flight to the Hoedspruit Airport. The flight route to the Kruger National Park in the Mpumalanga Province takes you over the wide-open spaces of the Highveld, down the escarpment and through the scenic Lowveld region.
Arrive at Hoedspruit Airport, were you meet your safari guide and enjoy a 20min road transfer to the Kapama Buffalo Camp. Check in for a light lunch. Freshen up and relax before it’s time to depart on a late-afternoon game drive in Kapama Private Game Reserve.
Overnight at Kapama Buffalo Camp. Guests dine in the lodge restaurant or at the outdoor boma.
Wake up early (5h30-6h00) for hot beverages and rusks before departing for a 3-hour sunrise game drive in Kapama Private Game Reserve. Return to your lodge for a late breakfast and spend the rest of the day relaxing at the pool or treating yourself to a spa session. Depart late afternoon after High Tea for a 3-hour sunset game drive in the private reserve, with a pitstop for sundowners in the bush.
Overnight at Kapama Buffalo Camp. Guests dine in the lodge restaurant or at the outdoor boma.

Head out as the sun is rising to enjoy your last game drive in Kapama Private Game Reserve. Return to your lodge for breakfast and be ready to depart the Lodge mid-morning for the return flight to the Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport .
