Kapama Buffalo Camp is the latest in Afro-chic glamping with luxurious tented accommodation situated on a lush riverbank lined with tall indigenous trees. Located in Kapama Private Game Reserve, guests have access to 13 000 hectares of pristine bushveld that falls within the Greater Kruger National Park. The modern eco-camp exudes by-gone safari luxury, with each ensuite deluxe safari tent is air-conditioned and fully-equipped for comfort and convenience. Perched on a wooden deck with stilts, the tented accommodation is built using natural stone and wood with modern décor accents of burnt red and gold. Luxury features include a Nespresso machine and mini-bar, and heated under-blankets for chilly evenings
Tintswalo Safari Lodge is located in the Manyeleti Game Reserve, with unfenced borders to the Kruger National Park, Timbavati and Sabi Sands. The Manyeleti is known for its game viewing opportunities with regular sightings of the Big 5 as well as cheetah and wild dog, with hundreds of bird species too. Guests are housed in accommodation themed after 18th century African explorers and authentically decorated to reflect the luxuries of colonial times. Experienced guides and trackers ensure the best safari and game viewing experiences in this area which boasts of the lowest vehicle densities in the Greater Kruger.
MalaMala Game Reserve was the first privately owned and commercially operated game reserve in South Africa and became the benchmark for the luxury safari industry in Southern Africa. Sable Camp is located next to MalaMala Camp, with beautiful views of the Sand River and surrounding bushveld. The reserve shares an unfenced boundary with the world-famous Kruger National Park (KNP) and has 20 kms (13 miles) of Sand River frontage, which makes the river the focus of MalaMala’s wildlife experience because it draws many animals all year round. Sable Camp is an elegant, African themed location with air-conditioned lounge or library area with satellite television and DVD player, dining room, safari bar, expansive wooden safari deck, filtered swimming pool overlooking the Sand River and a traditional reed “boma” for evening meals.
The thatched main area speaks of sophistication in the design and layout, and overlooks a waterhole and riverbed often visited by elephants, buffalo and other large game. The classic lower deck is flanked by an open dining area and a beautiful bar while 20 luxurious suites fan out from the main area. Two of them are family Suites, while 18 of them is built with magnificent river-facing views. All are totally private and stylishly decorated with large windows above the bath and giant sliding doors to the deck offering incredible views of the riverbed and animals that may visit. Each of the 18 luxury suites has an en-suite bathroom, indoor and outdoor shower and was designed to provide space and privacy. Elegant finishes and extremely comfortable beds complete the picture.
Spend four days in the untamed tranquillity of the Karongwe Private Game Reserve near Hoedspruit and the world-famous Kruger National Park in Limpopo to enjoy exciting game viewing and being spoilt rotten. About 5 hours (450 km) from OR Tambo International Airport, the reserve is a wildlife sanctuary located between four rivers and home to the Big 5 of the African bush (lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant), with the reserve being one of the best locations to spot Africa’s most elusive large cat, the leopard.
You will be collected from OR Tambo International Airport and driven through the wide-open spaces of the Highveld, down the escarpment to the scenic Limpopo Lowveld to arrive at Shiduli Private Game Lodge by mid-day, in time for a light lunch.
After lunch there is some time to relax before it is time to depart on a late-afternoon game drive in the reserve.
You overnight in a luxury suite at Shiduli Private Game Lodge and your stay includes lunch and dinner.
Each morning your wake-up call will come at 05:00 and just give you time for a hot beverage and rusks before departing for a three-hour sunrise game drive in the reserve.
You will return to the lodge for a late breakfast and can spend the rest of the morning relaxing at the pool. Lunch is served between 13:00 and 15: 00 and your afternoon game drive commence at about 16:00, to return around 19:00in time for dinner in the dining area or boma (weather permitting).
You overnight in your luxury suite at Shiduli Private Game Lodge and your stay includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Your morning will follow the same procedure as the previous days, but today you will savour your last sunrise during a game drive in the reserve, followed by another hearty breakfast before departing mid-morning on your return journey to Johannesburg.
You will arrive at OR Tambo International Airport during late afternoon – approximately 17:00.
Your deal today includes breakfast at the lodge.
