You can explore this wildlife-rich region of the Timbavati at the intimate 12-tent Tanda Tula Safari Camp amongst large trees on the banks of the Nlharalumi river. Except for deep relaxation in African elegance, you will become aware of the romance of South Africa’s unique and abundant wildlife.
The package includes round-trip road transfers from Johannesburg, a sunset safari drive in a 4×4 vehicle, a full-day guided safari in Kruger National Park, a guided bush walk, one night’s accommodation in a safari lodge, and two nights in a treehouse.
Honeyguide Mantobeni Camp is a remote bush camp, set in a grove of tamboti trees and reminds of Hemingway’s Africa. Guests are entertained on early morning and late afternoon/evening game drives in open game viewing vehicles and treated on sunset drinks and stunning views over the Mohwareng Hills. Large game like elephant, rhino, lion and hippo are frequently sighted in the reserve and in between meals and drives, guests can watch the game and birdlife pass by while relaxing at the pool or on guided walking safaris through the deep bush. Group tours to the nearby village of Welverdiend can be arranged, where you will learn more about the relationship between traditional and contemporary living.
Departing from the Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport Bus Terminal by 07:00am, travel eastwards via the N4 motorway through the Highveld of Gauteng and Mpumalanga, to the Manyeleti Game Reserve.
The drive may take about six to seven hours, and you will stop along the way for refreshments. You should reach the lodge around mid-day and have time to freshen up and relax before departing for your first afternoon game drive on an open safari vehicle.
After sunset you will return to the lodge where dinner will await.
You overnight in your luxury accommodation at Mantobeni Tented Camp and your lodging includes lunch and dinner.
Wake up early, enjoy a hot beverage and rusks before departing on the morning game drive to catch the sun rising and spot some nocturnal animals still out hunting.
You will return for a late breakfast at the lodge and can spend the rest of the day lazing around. Your afternoon game drive will depart at about 16:00 and return after sunset just in time for dinner around the fire.
You overnight in your luxury accommodation at Mantobeni Tented Camp and your deal includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.
On the last day of your stay you will get up early too, enjoy your hot beverage and rusks, and depart on the final game drive.
After experiencing another African sunrise, you return to the lodge for breakfast before departing to Johannesburg. You will arrive at your drop-off point around 17:00.
