MalaMala Camp is an unfenced oasis in the middle of the bush. The camp became legendary with rare photographs, old maps and extraordinary mementos rubbing shoulders with the work of renowned contemporary wildlife artists. Camp facilities include a lounge area, an elegant, air-conditioned African themed dining room, the iconic “Buffalo Bar” with photographs portraying the early days of MalaMala, a large wooden safari deck under a Jackalberry tree and a large filtered infinity pool overlooking the Sand River.
Accommodation is provided in eight individual suites built some distance from each other among Knobthorn and Jackalberry trees. The suites are individually decorated in a modern African theme, with high ceilings and extra screens on windows and doors so that it can be left open at night. Suites are equipped with air-conditioners and overhead fans. In addition to the original ones, new Makubela suites, built at the end of a raised walkway and named after a territorial female leopard, offer the ultimate in luxury, comfort and privacy.
Enjoy 4 Nights at one of the most exciting new offerings in the iconic Kruger National Park – in fact, in the whole of South Africa – is the Kruger Shalati Train on the Bridge. Permanently stationed on the historical Selati Bridge high above the Sabie River at Skukuza Rest Camp, the Kruger Shalati Train on the Bridge now offers the most unique accommodation anyone could imagine. What is more, this re-envisioned train pays homage to the first guests who explored the park by train nearly a century ago since it is positioned in the exact spot where that historical train would park overnight. Whether you’re in search of a one-of-a-kind adventure, an engrossing break or to simply immerse yourself in the finest of luxuries, Kruger Shalati will take you on a special, most extraordinary journey. The lodge, with its 31 rooms, consisting of 24 carriage rooms and 7 Bridge House rooms, all provide a most original experience, tailor-made to enjoy utter comfort in an awesome way.
