Kambaku Safari Lodge consists of eight beautiful thatched chalets and 3 inter-leading family units erected in a semi-circle around a waterhole. You can relax on your private veranda and watch animals coming down to drink. The central lodge areas are built to blend in with the surrounding bush and offers a swimming pool, bar, boma, library and curio shop. There is a game viewing hide and Wi-Fi is available, as well as spa treatments on request. All the accommodation is stylishly designed and decorated for comfort and peace. Room facilities include 4-poster beds draped with mosquito nets, overhead fans, a safe and en-suite bathroom with shower and bath.
Kambaku River Sands overlooks a waterhole and accommodates you in ten thatched suites adorned in authentic African style. Each suite sports an en-suite bathroom with a spa bath, double shower and outdoor shower. The suites are air-conditioned, neatly equipped with mosquito nets and modern amenities and have private viewing decks.
The lodge can accommodate 44 guests in 22 individual chalets, with units decorated in contemporary style with earthy colours/ Each unit comes fitted with mosquito nets, sports a balcony with a view, en-suite bathrooms, outside shower, air conditioning, telephone, mini-bar a fireplace and seating area. Free Wi-Fi is available in public areas.Dinner comprising traditional cuisine is served at the restaurant or around a boma fire under the stars. In addition to the main lodge guests can also book in one of the two additional camps.
Umkumbe Safari Lodge is located on the banks of the seasonal Sand River, perfectly situated in one of the best big five game viewing destinations in Africa.
A five-day safari in the Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve, with luxury lodging under canvas tents at Umkumbe Bush Lodge, provides the ideal glamping experience and enough time to completely rewind.
The Umkumbe Bush Lodge is nestled beneath a canopy of indigenous trees. This luxury tented camp, the reserve’s first of its kind, offers all of the creature comforts of home, but with a luxurious twist.
Two daily game drives are included in a safari stay at Umkumbe Bush Lodge. A scenic coffee stop may be included in the morning safari, and a classic safari sundowner and snacks may be included in the afternoon drive.
Accommodation
Umkumbe’s main lodge overlooks a patch of open savanna, a wooded thicket, and a winding drainage line that eventually empties into the seasonal Sand River. Visitors can explore the outdoors and look for games in their spare time between excursions and meals. Guests regularly see elephants, hippos, buffalo, and antelope grazing in the river bed.
Elegant tent suites with plenty of space are located in the middle of a forest on their own elevated wooden decks and are all named after trees native to the area. This luxurious lodge has nine suites, four of which are basic, one of which is luxury, and four of which are outstanding. Each luxury tent has a balcony and includes everything you need for a relaxing safari vacation.
A private sitting area on a raised wooden terrace, a tea/coffee station, a standing fan, air conditioning, a baggage stand, a hair dryer, a mosquito net, a safe, bathroom amenities, and the option to convert the beds from twin to double are all included in the suite.
The Superior Tented Suites are private, secluded rooms with a King bed, a sleeper sofa, and the option of an extra single bed for children. A shower in the backyard, a bath, and separate vanities for couples are also available. Two adults and up to three children can comfortably stay here.
The luxurious Leadwood Tent provides complete seclusion and includes a King bed and sofa bed. A separate soaking tub, his and her vanities, and an outside shower are also included. One child can live with his or her parents.
The regular tents are all stylish and spacious, with elevated wooden decks and natural settings among the trees. The room has a king-size bed that can be split into two twin beds and a bathroom with only a shower. Each tent can only accommodate two people.
Breakfast and lunch will be served alfresco at the main lodge, and supper will be served in the boma area around a blazing fire, depending on the weather.
Collection and Drop off
For this package, Kruger Safari Company Tours and its service providers provide affordable private transfers. Guests are picked up from any Johannesburg hotel or address between 7:00 and 7:30. Guests are dropped off at their hotel or address as arranged or at Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport around 17:00.
Remember that if you intend to fly out of OR Tambo International Airport on the final day of your safari tour, we recommend booking a domestic flight no earlier than 19:30 and an international flight no earlier than 21:00.

Travel from Johannesburg in an air-conditioned tour vehicle to Tremisana Game Lodge, located in Balule Game Reserve which falls within the Greater Kruger. Settle into your chalet and relax until it’s time to depart late afternoon for a 3-hour sunset game drive in the private reserve. Enjoy a starlit dinner at Marula Tree Boma which is set up deep in the bushveld.

Early morning wake-up for hot beverages and rusks before setting off to a remote corner of Balule Game Reserve for a 4-hour guided bush walk along the Olifants River with an armed safari guide. Enjoy the sights and sounds of a real bushveld experience while keeping a keen eye on the thick bush for the Big Five and an abundance of antelope, predators and indigenous birds.
Return to Tremisana Game Lodge for a late breakfast and refreshments; relax around the lodge until it’s time to depart for the late-afternoon game drive.

Wake up early for hot beverages and rusks and then it’s time to depart for a full day safari tour in the Kruger National Park. We enter via Orpen Gate and spend the day exploring the upper-south and central region. Lunch break at a popular Kruger Park rest camp (your own cost). Return to your lodge late afternoon.

Wake up early and join your guide for your last game drive in Balule Game Reserve. Enjoy a hearty breakfast before departing mid-morning for the return journey to Johannesburg, travelling via the famous Panorama Route. Arrive in Johannesburg late afternoon (approx 17h00).
