With its tapestry of brick paths, dolerite rock walls, tangled vines and waterfalls, Varty Camp is the symbolic heart of Londolozi in the central region of the Sabi Sands, sharing unfenced borders with the Kruger National Park. The tones of the luxurious family friendly safari lodge are evidence of the owners’ love affair of 90 years with this land and family heritage, boasting simple spaces with unencumbered views of the Sand River. The camp is raised off the ground under a cathedral of trees, overlooking magnificent riverine bush. Children over the age of six are welcome at Varty Camp.
Experience an exceptional safari at Arathusa Safari Lodge in the private Sabi Sand Game Reserve, the pristine wilderness sanctuary inside the Greater Kruger conservation area.
At Arathusa you can expect a high concentration of game, including the Big Five, with frequent leopard sightings. A large waterhole right in front of the lodge allows for game and bird viewing from the comfort of the camp.
Nkorho Bush Lodge accommodates a maximum of sixteen guests in eight stylish yet homely en-suite thatched chalets. The accommodations offer a relaxed atmosphere in luxurious surroundings, where guests will experience sheer contentment and tranquillity. Guests can enjoy hearty breakfasts under a thatched deck overlooking an open plain while dinners are enjoyed around an open fire in a typical leadwood boma. Afternoons can be spent cooling off in a unique rock pool before going on a game drive as the day closes. A laundry service is also available on request.
The Kruger National Park is one of the world’s premier nature reserves, and you will spend a significant amount of time exploring it during this three-day safari.Â
Many safari operators only offer three-hour morning and afternoon drives, but the Kruger National Park is vast, and this safari is one of only few that offers a full-day safari on a three-day safari tour.
This allows clients to see more of the Kruger and different areas, as opposed to short 3-hour safaris. On such short safaris, drivers must stay close to the camps, resulting in the same areas being driven on every safari.Â
A full day in the Kruger National Park may sound exhausting, but the guides make frequent stops at rest stops and lookout points. As you travel through different grasslands and ecological zones, you will have a better chance of seeing more wildlife.
Your three-day itinerary will include a sunset / night safari on day 1, a full-day open vehicle safari on day 2, and a morning safari in Kruger National Park on day 3.
On 3-day safaris, your chances are very good to see all of the Big 5 – lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo.
The Kruger National Park is home to 148 mammal and 500 bird species. So there’s a lot to see and photograph.
