Thornybush Game Lodge speaks of warm-hearted staff, a stunning riverbed setting and alegacy of excellence. As the first of its kind in the Thornybush Nature Reserve, opening its doors in 1961 already, this original establishment put Thornybush on the map and established a reputation of a world-class safari and game-viewing. Thornybush offers out-of-the-ordinary safari experiences for guests, while also enriching the lives of its staff and the well-being of surrounding communities.
Accommodation options at Jackalberry Lodge comprises seven thatched suites which can all accommodate two guests each and a family unit accommodating up to four people. The family suite has two adjoining suites but is otherwise similar to the other suites. The suites have a home-away-from-home feel and come with a private deck, inside and outside showers and a large bath. Classic safari decor with comfortable, modern furnishings adds some local flair. The private veranda is ideal for casual game-viewing or relaxing and the vicinity of the suites allows guests privacy and space while still being close to the lodge’s main area.
