Day 1 – Johannesburg to the Hoyo Hoy Safari Lodge
Our adventure begins as we depart from Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport by 07:00 AM. We’ll embark on a 5-day, 4-night combo safari that promises an extraordinary journey through the mesmerizing Kruger National Park. Our first destination is the esteemed Hoyo Hoyo Lodge. This remarkable lodge offers a unique blend of traditional African design and modern comforts. Set in the heart of the wilderness, Hoyo Hoyo Lodge provides an immersive safari experience with its luxurious accommodation and warm hospitality. Prepare to be enchanted by the breathtaking surroundings and indulge in delectable meals that showcase the authentic flavors of Africa.
Upon arrival at Hoyo Hoyo Lodge, we will be treated to an afternoon open vehicle safari drive. Led by experienced guides, we’ll embark on an exhilarating adventure through the park, immersing ourselves in the beauty of the natural landscape and searching for the diverse wildlife that inhabits the area. After the safari drive, we’ll return to the lodge, where a scrumptious dinner awaits, followed by a restful overnight stay.
Day 2 – Morning and Afternoon Open vehicle safari Drive
Awake to the sounds of the wild as we kick-start the day with an early morning safari drive from Hoyo Hoyo Lodge. Accompanied by knowledgeable guides, we’ll set off in search of the iconic Big Five and other captivating wildlife species that call Kruger National Park their home. After an exciting morning, we’ll return to the lodge for a delectable breakfast. The remainder of the day is yours to relax and immerse yourself in the tranquility of the lodge. Whether you choose to unwind by the pool, explore the lodge’s surroundings, or simply bask in the serene ambiance, you’ll find blissful moments at every turn. In the afternoon, we’ll embark on another thrilling safari drive, providing more opportunities for wildlife sightings and memorable experiences. As the day draws to a close, we’ll gather for an unforgettable dinner under the stars, followed by a comfortable overnight stay at Hoyo Hoyo Lodge.
Day 3 – Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge to the Sabi SandsÂ
After enjoying a delicious breakfast at Hoyo Hoyo Lodge, we’ll bid farewell to this enchanting haven and continue our journey to Umkumbe Lodge. Situated in the southern part of Sabi Sands Private game reserve, Umkumbe Lodge offers a different perspective on the park’s diverse wildlife. This intimate lodge provides comfortable and well-appointed accommodation, ensuring a relaxing and memorable stay. As we arrive at Umkumbe Lodge and settle in, the friendly staff will extend a warm welcome, making us feel right at home.
In the afternoon, we’ll embark on a captivating safari drive in the renowned Sabi Sands Game Reserve. Sabi Sands is celebrated for its exceptional wildlife sightings and awe-inspiring landscapes. With experienced guides leading the way, we’ll have the opportunity to witness Africa’s iconic animals up close and personal. As the day comes to an end, we’ll savor a delectable dinner at Umkumbe Lodge and spend the night immersed in the extraordinary wilderness setting.
Day 4 – Morning and Afternoon Sabi Sands Safari Drives
Awake to the melodies of nature and get ready for an early morning safari drive in Sabi Sands. With its rich biodiversity, Sabi Sands offers an unparalleled safari experience, with excellent chances of encountering the Big Five and other captivating wildlife. After the safari drive, we’ll return to Umkumbe Lodge for a mouthwatering breakfast. The rest of the day is yours to unwind and relax at the lodge. You may choose to participate in optional activities such as guided bush walks, allowing you to intimately connect with nature and gain a deeper understanding of the ecosystem. In the afternoon, we’ll embark on another safari drive, immersing ourselves in the wonders of Sabi Sands. As the day comes to a close, we’ll gather for a delightful dinner.
Day 5 – Morning Safari Drive and Return to Johannesburg
On our final day, we’ll set out on a memorable morning safari drive in Sabi Sands, cherishing our last moments in this wildlife-rich reserve. After the game drive, we’ll return to Umkumbe Lodge for a final breakfast and check-out. With incredible memories etched in our minds, we’ll commence our journey back to Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport, arriving by late afternoon. Our 5-day, 4-night combo safari comes to an end, leaving us with a deep appreciation for the beauty and wonders of the African wilderness.
