Balule is 23 000 square kilometres of pristine bushveld that stretches along the length of the Olifants River. The reserve is unfenced and game roams freely between Balule and the Kruger National Park. Tremisana Game Lodge is less than an hour’s drive from the Kruger Park. Tremisana Game Lodge is a founding member of Balule Private Nature Reserve and maintains much of its original warmth and charm. DAY 1: JOHANNESBURG – GREATER KRUGER (app 442 kms)
Travel from Johannesburg in an air-conditioned tour vehicle to Tremisana Game Lodge, located in the Balule Game Reserve which falls within the Greater Kruger. Settle into your chalet and relax until it’s time to depart late afternoon for a 3-hour sunset game drive in the private reserve. Enjoy a starlit dinner at Marula Tree Boma which is set up deep in the bushveld.

DAY 2: GREATER KRUGER
Early morning wake-up for hot beverages and rusks before setting off to a remote corner of Balule Game Reserve for a 4-hour guided bush walk along the Olifants River with an armed ranger. Enjoy the sights and sounds of a real bushveld experience while keeping a keen eye on the thick bush for the Big Five and an abundance of antelope, predators and indigenous birds.
Return to Tremisana Game Lodge for a late breakfast and refreshments; relax around the lodge until it’s time to depart for the late-afternoon game drive.

DAY 3: KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
Wake up early for hot beverages and rusks and then it’s time to depart for a full-day safari tour in the Kruger National Park. DAY 4: GREATER KRUGER
Enjoy a hearty breakfast and then join your guide for a tour of Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre located on the outskirts of Hoedspruit. The centre cares for injured and orphaned wild animals and birds of prey. The 2-hour excursion includes a photo opportunity with one of the ambassador cheetahs.
Return to your lodge mid-day and relax around the camp before it’s time to depart late afternoon for a 3-hour game drive in Balule Game Reserve
