Sabi Sabi’s Earth Lodge breaks with the traditional safari style and moulded this artistic lodge into the surrounding landscape. With an organic minimalist approach this lodge can hardly be seen from the entrance side. However once you walk thought the hidden entrance a world of sophisticated luxury unfolds. Clean designs combined with earthy colours and rich textures create a restoring atmosphere of calm. The lodge opens up to uninterrupted views of the surrounding bushveld and offers 13 suites including the unique Amber Presidential Suite.


The intelligent and creative design of the Earth Lodge is reflected in each of the luxury suites. The suites overlook the surrounding bushveld. Each unit has a private deck and plunge pool and the opulent en-suite bathrooms have large glass doors and indoor and outdoor showers. The design creates a harmonious atmosphere and wooden artwork by the South African artist Geoffrey Armstrong adds an exclusive touch.

Amber Presidential Suite

The generous space and exclusive amenities put the Amber Suite among the most luxurious retreats on the continent. The design has a perfect balance between Earth Lodge’s organic feel and lavish opulence. The headboard carved from an enormous piece of ornate piece of wood gives the suite a high recognition value. Situated in the renowned Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve taking in the fascinating wildlife is the main activity. Morning and evening game drives are conducted by knowledgeable and experienced guides. Walking safaris are accompanied by an armed guide and a Shangaan guide unearthing all the secrets of the bushveld.

The Amani Spa is a retreat for the body and the soul. Treatments and massages are aimed at aiding the body’s natural healing process and allowing the guests to restore energy and relive tension. The spa is equipped with two single treatment rooms and a double treatment room for couple treatment. Nestled in the pristine Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve, Earth Lodge offers world famous Big 5 game viewing. Leopard, lion, rhino, buffalo and elephant are all present in the 65 000 hectare conservancy. Situated in the south of the Greater Kruger Park, Sabi Sabi was established in 1979 and the land that is now the location of earth lodge was bought as a farm named ‘Lisbon’. Sabi Sabi now protects and maintains one of the most pristine and rewarding wildlife venues on the planet.

The reserve can be reached via the private Sabi Sabi Airstrip on an hour’s flight form Johannesburg. Those who want to enjoy a scenic drive can be chauffeured or take their own vehicle on a 5 hour drive from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport in Nelspruit.
