On return, you have some time to visit the Park’s shop, go for a walk and explore your surroundings.

Day 2: Full Day in the Park

This can be extended up to 5 full days in the park.

No matter how many days you choose, the itinerary for full days in the park remain the same.

It’s an early wake up today (times depend on seasons and park gate opening times) to get the best of what dawn has to offer in the Kruger National Park.  A quick coffee and/or tea (rusks included) will be had before an excursion into the park. The morning safari will take approximately 3-4 hours. Guests usually enjoy fantastic sightings in the morning with the help of a knowledgeable guide!

After the morning drive guests will return to Skukuza for breakfast/ brunch at the camp. After breakfast you will have time to relax and enjoy some of the other activities including swimming, a visit to Skukuza museum, the park shop packing with curios, drinks and snacks. Guests may just want to catch up on some sleep, read a book or relax at the viewing platform situated in front of the restaurant overlooking the Sabie River. So make sure to bring your binoculars to view the flurry of the birds Skukuza has to offer.

After this relaxed time, guests will set off on an afternoon game drive in a specially adapted 4×4 open game drive vehicles. The vehicle affords one the best vantage point as well as the best opportunity of spotting game.

NB: This option is only available to those on a safari of 5 days or longer – A SAN Parks Bush Walk is available to guests spending 5 days or more on safari. The walks are conducted by a Parks ranger and other guests may join in on this activity. (Children under the age of 12 are not permitted on bush walks). Walks take place very early in the morning to discover the best of what the park has to offer at this time (there will be no morning game drive on this day). The walk affords the opportunity to get up close and personal with nature and observe things one may miss in a safari vehicle. Please remember to pack comfortable walking shoes.

After an afternoon drive, guests will return to camp to enjoy a delicious dinner and tales told under the stars and relaxation around a camp fire.

(Breakfast & Dinner included)

The Last Day- Kruger Park- Gauteng

Today guests will have one last chance to explore and try find what might have been missed in the park. An early morning game drive will see guests out in the park one final time before returning to a scrumptious breakfast. Thereafter guests will return to Johannesburg, a drive which takes at least 6 hours so it is advisable to sleep over in Johannesburg on this night.

(Breakfast included)

Notes:

There is a permanent camp in Skukuza, which is also where the open game drive vehicles are based. Safaris with accommodation in multiple rest camps are available on request.

It is important to note that this is not a private safari and more than likely there will be other guests joining you on the game drive vehicles, air-conditioned mini bus transfer vehicles as well as in the dining facility.

Please note that sunset game drive times are subject to change and availability on the day. These drives are conducted by SAN PARKS, by one of their rangers and in one of their vehicles. There will most likely be other guests on this drive. Children under 6 years of age are not allowed on SAN Parks open game drive vehicles.

Although children are welcome on safaris, the right is reserved to not allow younger children on normal game drives. This will be entirely up to the guide’s discretion and will be in order to ensure a pleasurable game drive for all guests (including the parents). Should this be the case, a bush bumble (kiddies game drive) will be conducted after the normal game drive, especially for the kids. Babysitting is not offered and as such one of the parents will have to stay behind to watch the children. Private game drives for families can be arranged at an extra charge.

Guests flying out of OR Tambo Airport on the last day are reminded to not book any flights earlier than 19h00 (domestic) or 20h00 (international) in order to give us enough time to get you to the airport. It is recommended that you rather stay over in Johannesburg if possible. Since your arrival time in Johannesburg cannot be guaranteed on the last day, only you will be held responsible for making your flight on time and booking it at a suitable time. Private transfers for guests with early flights can be arranged in advance at an extra charge.
